Alan Schonfeld, Corinne Bertsche, and Cecilia Preciado all Certified by the State Bar as Legal Malpractice Specialists

On January 3, 2012, Alan Schonfeld, Corinne Bertsche, and Cecilia Preciado were each certified by the California State Bar Board of Legal Specialization as Certified Specialists in Legal Malpractice Law.  There are currently only 72 State Bar Certified Specialists in Legal Malpractice Law statewide out of over 175,000 active California attorneys.


Alan Schonfeld Defenses Another Legal Malpractice Trial

On November 18, 2011, a jury in San Bernardino Superior Court, Rancho Cucamonga Division, rendered a defense verdict of no negligence in a legal malpractice case tried by Alan Schonfeld.  The jury deliberated 2.5 hours before reaching its verdict.

Demurrer Sustained Without Leave To Amend In Legal Malpractice Action In Riverside Superior Court

SBP Prevails on Anti-Slapp Motion

Corinne Bertsche prevailed on an anti-slapp motion on the ground that the underlying dismissal did not constitute a favorable termination.  The trial court’s ruling was upheld on appeal.  All of the attorney’s fees and costs incurred were awarded to the client.  A final judgment in the amount of  $59,469 was enetered in her client’s favor.

Plaintiff Dismisses Orange County Legal Malpractice Action After Receiving Letter From SBP

Plaintiff and his counsel agreed to dismiss an Orange County legal malpractice action after receiving a detailed letter from Alan Schonfeld analyzing why the case had no merit.  No discovery was conducted and no money was paid.  Plaintiff simply filed the dismissal.
